Chef/Special Functions Manager - Rockland

Knox Center, Rockland, is seeking a full-time day/evening Chef/Special Functions Manager. The Chef/Special Functions Manager is responsible for food preparation, managing cost, inventory, minimizing waste and planning special functions. Minimum Qualifications:  Serve Safe Certified.  Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.  Formal Food Service training a plus.  2-5 years experience in institutional cooking preferred. Able to be flexible in schedule due to special functions.  Looking for someone with creative skills in cooking as well as having an understanding of dietary restrictions, food safety, and regulatory standards. Part-time. TAMC's Aroostook Health Center, located in Mars Hill, provides long-term care and rehabilitation services to 72 residents. We take a holistic approach to providing care. This includes creating a plan of care that fits the unique needs of every resident, including the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of health. Our rehabilitation program allows residents to relearn activities of daily living, recover sooner, and regain the ability to care for themselves upon returning home. Our rehabilitation services help to bridge the gap between hospital and home. We also care for residents who can no longer perform everyday tasks, such as eating, bathing, or getting dressed. We understand that losing independence due to illness or injury can be a very difficult adjustment. We work very hard to help ease the transition for our residents and their families through a supportive, team approach. Seventy Five State Street in Portland is looking for waitstaff to work in our dining rooms and kitchen. $10.10 per hour plus $1 shift differential for hours worked past 4pm & all day on weekends. Full-time. Non-profit organization. To perform dining service duties that support the Dining Service Department in service for residents who live in an Assisted Living Facility. As a Food Service Director, you will oversee daily food service operations in a LTC, Skilled and Assisted Living facility and will be responsible for building and developing a team. You will establish and maintain systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving of food and related products as well as menu planning and development. You will assist in unit forecast and budgeting. The Food Service Director ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met, coordinates and supervises unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labor scheduling, staffing and employee training, conducts periodic inventory and other functions such as maintaining records to comply with company, government and accrediting agency standards.
