Admissions/Marketing Coordinator

Augusta Center for Health & Rehabilitation, 188 Eastern Avenue, Augusta, is seeking a full-time (40 hours/Monday-Friday) Admissions/Marketing Coordinator. Major Purpose: To assist the Director in keeping the beds filled, to increase the payer mix to the optimum benefit to the facility, and to ensure a positive public image. Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Business and/or three-five (3-5) years directly related health care experience; can communicate both verbally and in writing; must have excellent presentation and organizational skills; knowledge of closing a sale's agreement; ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties; knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admission process within a nursing facility; must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility. Primary Functions: Market facility to hospitals, physicians, VNA's, community; do assessments for hospital and community referrals; schedule and close tours for prospective families and applicants; share pertinent information regarding the facility; obtain any additional information needed from the family to complete an application; fill out Admission paperwork with resident or family; receive incoming referrals from hospitals, community agencies, and families; mail out the following items for community referrals; list referral in Waiting List Log after receiving a completed and signed application; participate in daily admissions meetings. Facilitate the meeting in the absence of the Director; completes admission paperwork within two (2) business days of residents admission; maintains accurate records pertinent to the admissions process; assists the Director in developing collateral, press releases, advertisements, and scheduling community activities; responsible for five (5) outside visits per week to a variety of referral sources, i.e., hospitals, physicians, outpatient facilities, and other secondary referral sources; responsible for follow-up phone calls to established referral sources as well as initiating new referral source contacts by telephone on a daily basis; completes a report on daily/weekly marketing activity and submits it to the Director by 11:00 AM the following Monday; on a daily basis, fax bed availability to primary referral sources; active member of the Strategic Planning Team and Marketing Team. In the absence of the Admissions Director, assumes all duties and responsibilities as necessary to maintain the efficient flow of inquiries and admissions to the facility. Ensures coverage of the Admissions office in the absence of the Director. Coordinate new admissions and re-admission with Nursing. Keep Director informed/updated on various activities/projects on weekly basis or as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by Admissions Director or Administrator. Public Relations & Marketing Director
