Leave Your MARCC: Avoiding the Institutionalizing of Person-Centered Care

An article recently published by Pioneer Network authored by New England's own Marguerite McLaughlin discusses how “So often, care plans read “redirect” as some generalized marching order -- a vague notion to get people with Alzheimer's disease distracted when instead, it should offer ideas that soothe and comfort, prevention strategies that keep folks from becoming bored or lonely.” The article provided great insight into the opportunities to truly become person centered in our homes. MARCC is pleased to have Marguerite live and in person for the next MARCC all member meeting on February 12, 2019 from 1:30-3:30pm at South Portland Nursing and Rehab, 42 Anthoine Street South Portland, Maine. This is a FREE educational session on ‘The transformational model of culture change'. RSVP to dwatford@mehca.org to reserve your seat today.
