Counterfeit At-Home Over-the-Counter COVID-19 Diagnostic Tests

On May 5, 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning that counterfeit at-home, over-the-counter (OTC) diagnostic tests for COVID-19 have been distributed or used in the United States.

These counterfeit tests should not be used or distributed.

The FDA will update its
website to list counterfeit at-home OTC COVID-19 diagnostic tests to alert the public, including test users, caregivers, health care providers, and distributors, and to provide information on how to identify counterfeit tests.
