In keeping with the CDC guidelines related to COVID-19 and the caution against gathering in crowds, the Spring session of the Nurse Leadership Institute (which we originally planned to launch on April 23, 2020) has been postponed until further notice.
The Nurse Leadership Institute is an 8-week course created for nurses serving as Director of Nursing in a long-term care setting (and/or nurses exploring this career path). Selected participants will have the opportunity to enhance existing knowledge of industry practices, fine-tune leadership and communication skills, and obtain tools and resources designed to support them in fulfilling their mission: providing top quality care and preserving the quality of life for residents in your community. For detailed information about this year's Institute, please refer to the NLI Brochure.
To be considered for the upcoming NLI class, an application is required. A completed application includes all of the following (without exception): (1) NLI Application Form (completed by applicant) and (2) Letter of Support (complete by applicant's sponsoring facility administration or direct supervisor).
How to Apply
You may apply online or complete the NLI Application Form included in the brochure (see page 7) and fax it to MHCA at 207.623.4080. Either way, please be prepared to provide your contact information, current nursing license number, a brief statement of your goals and objectives, and the name/email of the person who will be submitting your Letter of Support. The required Letter of Support shoud be sent to Karen Michaud, Director of Education, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications are due by Friday, April 3, 2020.
Participants will be selected shortly after that date and an Acceptance Letter sent to the email provided (with instructions on how to confirm your seat in the upcoming class and submit the appropriate payment).
MHCA Member Rates: $900 per person
Non-Member Rates: $1500 per person
Please do not submit your payment for the Institute until the application process is complete. Payment will be requested only after participants are selected for the upcoming class.
For more information about dates, content, policies and more, please refer to the conference brochure.
