Preparing to Testify at the Assisted Housing Programs Licensing Rule Changes Public Hearing on LD 979
Please join MHCA as we hold an informational session on Thursday, March 27th from 2:00 - 3:00 pm to help prepare assisted living, residential care, and Private Non-Medical Institutions (PNMI-C) providers to testify on the Chapter 113: Assisted Housing Programs Licensing Rule.
These provisionally adopted rules will have a public hearing before the Health and Human Services Committee which has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st at 1:00 pm. The bill number is LD 979.
In this one hour session, participants will:
- Learn about changes to the Provisionally Adopted 10-144 CMR Chapter 113: Assisted Housing Program Licensing Rules, Part A and Part B
- Understand the impact of regulatory changes and increased staffing ratios for long term care providers
- Receive tips on how to prepare to deliver verbal testimony at the public hearing which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1s at 1:00 pm before the Health and Human Services Committee, 209 Cross Office Building, Augusta, ME. You can testify in person or via Zoom. Written comments can also be uploaded via the legislature’s portal.
We had over 160 individuals testify at the first public hearing before DHHS. Please make sure to have your voice heard at this second public hearing. This will be the last opportunity to influence the outcome of these new licensing rules.
