Course Description
Maine Health Care Association is pleased to announce our first-ever online Nurse Leadership Institute. This course was created specifically for Directors of Nursing who serve in long-term care centers (or nurses exploring this career path). The goal is to expand existing knowledge of industry practices, fine-tune leadership and communication skills, and provide tools and resources to support your mission of delivering high quality care to your residents.
During this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, we feel it is essential to create space for Directors of Nursing to connect with peers, participate in education, and grow their leadership and communication skills. To make it easier to participate, we will host these sessions online (via Zoom), one afternoon every two weeks, for a total of nine sessions.
This is an excellent educational opportunity for your nurses, especially for those who are new to the DON role or exploring this career path. To date, we have graduated 114 nurses from the Institute and, based on their input on evaluations, they have found this program incredibly beneficial. For more details about the content, please refer to the NLI Brochure.
