The impact of this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has been overwhelming, to say the least. Much of the way we provide care to our residents, in long-term care communities, including how we balance safety and resident rights, is constantly changing and residents, families and staff have had to adjust to this "new normal" for an indefinite period. While some things may be out of our control, learning how to recognize the traumatic impact on residents, and respond in ways that promote their health and well-being, is essential to delivering quality care in times like these.
This webinar series will provide a framework for understanding the impact of the pandemic on residents and offer strategies for promoting residents' health and well-being. We will address four key aspects of care: (1) psychosocial well-being, (2) dementia care and validation techniques, (3) addressing distress through meaningful activities, and (4) understanding quality of life tags and protecting resident rights. For a detailed description of each session, you may refer to the Event Flyer.
This four-part webinar series will be hosted LIVE (via Zoom) beginning at 1:00PM on the following dates: April 14, 16, 28 & 30, 2021. Session will be anywhere from 60-90 minutes long. If you are new to Zoom, we recommend that you visit the Help Desk in advance to take advantage of their free tutorials.
