As the Maine healthcare system began to respond to COVID-19, demand for respiratory personal protective equipment (PPE) increased rapidly, as did the number of users. We know that you as healthcare workers have leveed your skills and courage to care for acutely ill patients, and concurrently experienced a great burden of disease and death. Respiratory Protection Plans are a key component to the safety and preparedness efforts of your home against emerging infectious disease. We know you must ensure that you are able to meet the needs of your residents but also maintain the safety of your staff in the process. This program will review an essential toolkit developed in partnership by Maine CDC, Safety Works and the Maine Health Care Association to assist providers in meeting the requirements for respiratory protection plans.

Topics Include:

  • Respiratory Protection Program Overview
  • Temporary Guidance Situations
  • Staff Training Resources
  • Train the Trainer Programs
  • Fit Testing Resources
  • Maine Infection Prevention Forum
