Title / Description:
Grief, Loss, Death & Dying: Caring for Ourselves while Caring for Others
When the work you do involves supporting others through illness, death, dying, grief and loss, you will undoubtedly be impacted in many ways. In this 4-hour workshop (divided into 2 hour sessions over 2 days), you will learn about various kinds of grief and loss and common responses to the experience of grief. You will also learn the importance of professional and personal self-care as you work with those who are ill, dying, or experiencing grief and loss. We will discuss ways to assess and evaluate our own self-care practices and you will have the opportunity to create an individualized self-care plan.
