Program Description
During the COVID-19 pandemic, long-term care providers have had to modify day-to-day care and services to residents while also complying with new guidelines mandated by Federal, State, and local governments. This pandemic has and will continue to have a significant impact on the psychosocial well-being of residents, staff and families due to the limitations on movement within the facility environment, a moratorium on visitation, and a shrinking caregiving staff as the virus continues to spread.

This web-based educational series addresses the psychosocial challenges associated with responding to the needs of residents, staff, and families. These discussions offer a practical framework for achieving compliance and providing quality care, now and in the months to come. Each module was designed to help the interdisciplinary team recognize and respond to trauma-related mood and behavioral needs of residents, staff and families.

  • Module 1:  The Many Faces of Grief
  • Module 2:  COVID-19: Identifying Trauma-Related Changes in Mood and Behavior
  • Module 3:  Recognizing and Addressing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

For more details about each session, please refer to the Program Flyer.
