Title: Incorporating the Grievance Process into QAPI Activities (WB2104)
Date: April 13, 2021
Time: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Program Description: Nursing home residents have the right to voice grievances without worrying about discrimination and/or retaliation. Does your team understand the grievance process and make room for residents/families to report their concerns? The grievance process is meant to engage residents beyond direct care activities and to incorporate resident voice in improving your care and services before a grievance becomes a State investigation and citation. Bringing a resident’s perspective into your QAPI activities will help you to better understand facility problems and provide you the opportunity to develop person-centered interventions. This workshop will cover the federal requirements for grievances and how to use QAPI activities to better understand the system and address issues that require action.
