The Lincoln Home is a Not for Profit, Independent Community managed by its Board of Directors that has been serving people 55 years and over since 1927. This small, unique community located on the banks of the Damariscotta River enjoys an esteemed reputation of excellence in care giving, fine dining, rich community life as well as being an important go- to resource for the people of the Twin Villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle on senior issues and education. The Lincoln Home has been a pillar of the Damariscotta/ Newcastle area and Lincoln County for over 90 years.
The Executive Director has a 24-hour, 7- days a week responsibly for the community. This includes leading the day- to -day operations, supporting and supervising all departments, the staff team and residents; building relationships with staff, residents, families, and health care providers as well as knowing and meeting all state regulations and maintaining Department of Human Services survey compliance.
This Position requires a person with solid experience and knowledge of Health Care Administration, Development, Community Relations, Marketing and Sales. Experience as a Registered Nurse or Health Care would be a plus. Must have sensitive and successful interpersonal skills with an understanding of senior issues and a working knowledge of dementia. A State of Maine Assisted Living Administrator’s License and a working knowledge of the survey process is required or the ability to acquire both.
Applicant must have knowledge of and participate in all community life programs and events involving residents, staff, Board, and volunteers. The Executive Director must develop and foster relationships with businesses and nonprofits within the local area and needs to be able to articulate the rich history of The Lincoln Home and promote The Lincoln Home's mission and value to the community. The Executive Director is responsible for budget development, fiscal responsibility and oversight and management of all budgetary expenses including payroll. The Executive Director is involved in prospective employee screening, hiring, employee coaching, and performance evaluations. The Executive Director partners with the Board in fundraising and development activities and keeps them apprised of all aspects of the operation. The Executive Director must be proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office, exhibits proven and excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills and attention to details are essential.
