Director of Operations


Reporting to the company Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operations (DO) will serve as a key member of the Operations Team providing operational oversight for various First Atlantic HealthCare (FAHC) communities.


The DO will possess a sustained track record of leading and managing Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Nursing Facility communities and have proven their ability to be a good listener, motivator, innovator, communicator, and patient advocate. The DO will provide overall leadership, including day-to-day care of patients, care coordination with outside providers (as needed), management of quality assurance performance improvement processes, recognizes the financial implication of all management decisions with the goal of providing excellent patient care profitably. The DO will oversee all facility-related operations including QAPI processes, planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising all clinical activities according to company policies, standards of practice, and state and federal laws.

The requirements listed below, while not all-inclusive, are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Health Care related field, Hospitality Management or Business required with Master’s preferred.
  • Current State of Maine Multi-Level Administrator’s License preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ year’s progressive experience in a senior leadership role specifically with budgetary/ financial and operational responsibilities as well as multi-property supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent human relations skills with ability to effectively communicate with and motivate diverse workforce.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time or more with overnight stays.
