Description:
The New Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) begins on October 1, 2019. Under the new system, patient clinical characteristics in totality will determine payment.  That means quick and highly accurate assessment and diagnosis will be critical. Payment will no longer be focused on therapy minutes and ADLs but will rely on over 180 MDS item fields so failing to accurately code patient needs will have a significant impact on adequate and accurate payment for high quality care. To operate effectively under PDPM, staff roles will need to change. MHCA will be partnering with AHCA to bring their PDPM ACADEMY to Maine.

The PDPM ACADEMY is a 10-month training effort designed to help centers prepare for this massive change. It includes both in-person training and continuing updates and support to prepare you for October 1st.   Provider members of AHCA ~ MHCA who register for the PDPM Academy will have access to all of the following:
(1)
PDPM 101 Webinar (prerequisite for taking the in-person training), (2) One-day, in-person training workshop at the Augusta Civic Center on April 17, 2019, (3) Monthly workshop webinars on key topics and emerging PDPM issues, (4) “How To” webinars on implementing additional tools developed by AHCA.

The deadline for registering for this event was Monday, April 1. If you have any questions, please contact Ashley Ellis, Program Assistant (207.623.1146, ext. 200)
