Life Safety Bootcamp
The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office, along with experts from Dirigo and MHCA, will lead this one-day intensive designed to help administrators and maintenance managers work together as partners in compliance.
The training combines hands-on instruction from Maine’s Fire Marshal team with practical guidance on risk assessment, documentation, policies, and emergency planning. Participants will walk away with concrete tools, sample templates, and strategies to prepare for survey and strengthen their facility’s emergency readiness.

Adam Gormely is a seasoned corporate trainer and motivational speaker with years of experience in transforming individuals and teams. Known for his engaging and insightful workshops, Adam has a unique ability to connect with audiences by drawing on his diverse professional background, including his distinguished 30-year tenure as a Maine Game Warden, where he served in various command roles.
Adam's workshops are not just about theory; they are about real change. His sessions are infused with stories of his time as a Game Warden, illustrating how perseverance and strategic thinking can lead to success. Participants leave his workshops with practical tools and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to tackle challenges with confidence and clarity.
Maine Fire Marshals’ Office
Timothy Chamot has been a Maine Department of Public Safety employee for 9 years. Tim is the Penobscot, Hancock, Washington Conty area Public Safety Inspector responsible for conducting Life Safety Inspection at hospitals, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and daycare facilities, among others. Tim is a Certified Fire Inspector with the National Fire Protection Association, a Certified Fire Plans Examiner with the National Fire Protection Association, and a Certified Life Safety Specialist for CMS. Tim is a former volunteer firefighter with 15 years of experience as a Firefighter. Time formerly worked for 15 years as a Facilities Director for a 250-bed nursing/resident care facility in Western New York, and a 68-bed facility in Maine. Tim is a former Certified Instructor for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife teaching Hunter Education.
Vince Baldwin brings over 31 years of distinguished service in the fire and life safety field. Having served 20 years with the Presque Isle Fire Department as a firefighter, Vince concurrently held the role of Deputy Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Presque Isle for seven years, honing his expertise in life safety code compliance. Now a Public Safety Inspector II with the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office, he conducts critical inspections to ensure public safety. Vince is a Certified CMS Lead Life Safety Inspector and Certified Fire Inspector I, reflecting his commitment to excellence in fire prevention and safety standards. A respected leader in the field, he is passionate about advancing community safety through rigorous code enforcement and education.
Maine Health Care Association
Maureen Carland MA, RN-BSN, NHA, is the Director of Quality Improvement and Regulatory Affairs at the Maine Health Care Association. She is a licensed multilevel nursing home administrator and registered nurse with over 35 years of experience in health care. Maureen led a team to earn the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award – for superior performance in quality care, awarded by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), becoming the first Gold recipient in the state of Maine. Maureen has been a Gold Award Examiner for the past nine years and is a self-described quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) junkie. She holds an MA in Leadership Studies as well as a BS in Nursing.
Certificate:
To earn a Certificate, you must sign-in at the registration table in the morning and again in the afternoon. After the training, attendance will be verified and certificates will be issued electronically to all eligible participants.
