Staffing Transition Announcement

Ashley Ellis, MHCA Director of Education, has announced her resignation effective January 13, 2023. After more than eleven years of working for the association, Ashley has accepted a position as Project Coordinator – Performance and Systems Optimization for Central Maine Health Care (CMHC.)

Ashley came to MHCA with a background in behavioral healthcare. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Southern Maine before beginning her career as a treatment level foster care case manager. While at MHCA, Ashley performed many tasks. She assisted with all functions of the association's day to day operations, education programs, the Board of Directors, legislative advocacy projects, CMP grants, Remember ME, the Mike McNeil Scholarship Fund and Celebrating Excellence. Ashley brought passion and innovation to her work, creating new fundraising opportunities, and streamlining processes along the way. While providing support to fellow staff and learning the needs of the association's membership, Ashley experienced great growth in her role. In 2021, Ashley was promoted to the Director of Education, a position in which she brought new ideas and worked diligently to meet the needs of members during challenging times.

“I am deeply honored to have had the opportunity to support the work of MHCA's talented members. I will be forever grateful for the mentorship I have received as a member of the MHCA team. This opportunity has nurtured my love for long term care and the great work you all do. Long term care caregivers are truly incredible individuals, and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be inspired by each and every one of you,” said Ashley

Please join with me in thanking Ashley for her many years of dedicated service and wishing her all the best in her future endeavors.
