Maine’s long-term care facilities are eligible for enhanced incentives for energy efficient technology

Efficiency Maine has announced it is extending the deadline for its Funding Opportunity Notice (FON) for Maine long-term care facilities upgrading their heating, cooling, and ventilation systems (Long-Term Care Retrofits FON-011-2023 - Extended). The Application Deadline is March 30, 2024, with Project Completion Deadline of November 30, 2024. Maine long-term care facilities are eligible for enhanced incentives up to 90% of the material cost for whole-building electric HVAC systems such as heat pumps and variable refrigerant flow systems, as well as LED lighting upgrades.

Upgrading heating and cooling systems allows long-term care facilities to lower their operating costs, improve comfort for residents and employees, and increase equipment reliability.
