How to Bill for Respiratory Vaccines

Medicare provides coverage for vaccines administered to patients during their stay in a nursing home. The payment for vaccines is contingent upon various factors, including the type of vaccine administered and the length of the patient's stay, whether short-term or long-term.

Furthermore, Medicare may reimburse nursing homes directly for the cost of vaccines administered on-site, or providers may bill Medicare separately for the vaccines administered to eligible beneficiaries. It's important for nursing homes and healthcare providers to understand Medicare's guidelines and billing procedures to ensure proper reimbursement for vaccine administration services rendered to patients during their stay.
