The Maine Health Care Association (MHCA) honored the accomplishments of 28 people living in the state’s long term care facilities at a ceremony held at the Augusta Civic Center today

This is the 21st annual celebration of the photography exhibit “Remember ME,” which features black and white photographs and biographies of residents living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities statewide. Residents aged 68-105 are decorated war heroes, mothers and fathers, and community leaders such as nurses, teachers, and small business owners. Lawmakers from across the state joined the celebration, including Senator Craig Hickman, Senator Marianne Moore, Representative Kristen Cloutier, and Representative Lydia Crafts. US Senator Susan Collins and the Maine Senate President Troy Jackson also sent in videos to recognize the honorees' lives.

Since its inception, the Remember ME program has recognized over 700 long term care residents statewide. This year's booklet of awardees' life stories of photos can be accessed here.
