Board of Nursing Adoption of Chapter 14 – Ethical Standards of Practice for Nurses

The Maine State Board of Nursing has officially adopted Chapter 14: Ethical Standards of Practice for Nurses, aligning with the 2025 edition of the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics. This new chapter was approved by Board vote and took effect as of  July 1, 2025.

The rule is now active and available for reference on the Board's website. Nurses are encouraged to review the updated standards to ensure continued alignment with professional ethical expectations.
