MHCA and MHCA Business Services Annual Meeting Updates & Election Results

Elections:
During the annual meeting, the association held elections for renewal of directors with expiring terms and for three (3) open seats on the Board of Directors. All candidates running for the board were exceptionally well qualified and the association is grateful for the depth of interest in volunteering to serve on the Board.
Congratulations to the following individuals:
MHCA Board of Directors:
- Jessica Duffy, Executive Director, Affinity Care of Maine (re-elected for 2-year term)
- Rebecca Gagnon, Executive Director, Gorham House (re-elected for 1-year term)
- Patricia Buiocchi, COO, Post Acute Care, Maine Health (elected for 2-year term)
- Peggy Farrington, Executive Director, Sunrise at Huntington Common (elected for 2-year term)
- Jason Moore, Director of Strategic Operations, New England, National Health Care Associates Inc. (elected for 2-year term)
MHCA Business Services Board of Directors:
- Glen Cyr, Senior Vice President of Finance, North Country Associates (re-elected for 3-year term)
MHCA Bylaws Amended & Restated:
In addition, the members unanimously approved a number of amendments to the association's bylaws. The amended bylaws language clarifies the “Multi-Facility” rule, which requires both common ownership and common management, and states that there shall be no more than two (2) Directors from any one Full Member. This change allows up to two individuals to serve on the board from the same facility or multi-facility entity. As of October 9th, the members approved the amended and restated bylaws, which can be viewed here.
MHCABS Top Purchasers:
MHCA Business Services also updated the members and presented award to the top three purchasers in our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). The winners were:
- Schooner Estates Senior Living Community- Category A (100 + beds)
- Durgin Pines- Category B (50-99 beds)
- Harris House- Category C (Under 50 beds)
