Cultural Foundations in Long Term Care

This interactive training, presented by Marwa Hassanien, is designed for long term care leaders and staff who want to strengthen workplace practices, improve communication across teams, and create environments where employees from New Mainer communities and linguistic minorities feel welcomed, supported, and valued. Participants will explore how culture, identity, language, and lived experience shape workplace expectations and communication styles, and examine how organizational practices can either support or unintentionally create barriers for staff. Through real world scenarios and guided reflection, the session provides practical strategies to strengthen recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and retention in today's evolving workforce.
