Thank You, Chapter 110 Workgroup Members (you know who you are)

An intrepid group of MHCA members took a deep dive into the Chapter 110 Regulations Governing the Licensing and Functioning of Skilled Nursing Facilities and Nursing Facilities.  
 
Over the course of several weeks, the group spent countless hours poring through the state regs, comparing with the federal regs, looking for redundancies, outdated language, and language that is unclear.
  
The team was invited to present their lengthy findings this week to a group of five staff from Maine DHHS' Division of Licensing and Certification as part of MHCA's advocacy for a formal crosswalk between the state's regs and the corresponding federal regulations.  
 
Our fantastic group of Chapter 110 reviewers offered to the Department their in-depth and astute findings, identifying hundreds of opportunities to improve the functionality of the state regulations.  
 
As we await next steps with the Department, MHCA wishes to tip our hat in sincere gratitude to the group of 12 who worked above and beyond their facility duties to improve statewide regulations.
