The Board of Directors meets four to six times per year, usually in Augusta, with a virtual option available. New Board member orientation is held annually in the fall.
In 2025, the MHCA bylaws were changed to allow for “no more than two (2) Directors from any one Full Member shall be eligible to serve on the Board" and "no more than two (2) Directors from any one Multi-Facility shall be eligible to serve on the Board." Multi-facility entities are defined as “a system of entities characterized by (i) common ownership, and (ii) common management of more than one facility or agency.”
All completed nominations will be reviewed and each candidate will be contacted by MHCA Board or staff. We do request a resume/CV be uploaded. If you are nominating an individual, please have the nominee submit a resume/CV to dchicoine@mehca.org no later than June 26th.Your responses will help ensure our Board reflects Maine's diverse long term care providers and communities.
Additionally, there is an opportunity to serve on the MHCA Business Service Board of Directors. MHCA Business Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Maine Health Care Association. It was established to provide members of the Association with group purchasing opportunities and other benefits. As a separate entity, it operates with its own Board of Directors, which is elected in conjunction with the MHCA annual meeting.
The Nominating Committee will present a slate of candidates for election by the membership at the Annual Meeting. Additional details to follow.
