CoreQ Measures Get the Nod: Three SNF Satisfaction Measures Re-Endorsed by PQM

Good news for facilities tracking resident and family satisfaction: the Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM) has re-endorsed three CoreQ measures as part of its routine measure maintenance process:
  • SNF Short-Stay Discharge Measure
  • SNF Long-Stay Resident Measure
  • SNF Long-Stay Family Measure
If you're not already familiar, CoreQ is a set of five satisfaction measures used across skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and assisted living (AL) communities. Built around a core set of customer satisfaction questions, CoreQ makes it possible to measure satisfaction consistently across long-term and post-acute care settings. You can find the full question set and scoring scale on the CoreQ website.

Why re-endorsement matters:
PQM endorsement isn't just a formality — it signals that a measure meets rigorous, recognized standards for quality measurement, which in turn builds credibility with policymakers and other stakeholders. This latest re-endorsement confirms that these three CoreQ measures remain valid and reliable tools for assessing satisfaction.
With this update, all five CoreQ measures are now currently endorsed by PQM. The two assisted living measures are up for their own re-endorsement review in 2029.

Why this matters:
Customer satisfaction is a meaningful indicator of the quality of care and services your facility or community provides — and CoreQ gives you a standardized, credible way to measure it. And the new VBP for SNFs incorporates long stay CoreQ for payment.

If you have questions about how your state or organization can put CoreQ to work, reach out to coreq@ahca.org.
And a quick reminder: ask your customer satisfaction vendor to include CoreQ in your surveys, and upload your data to LTC Trend Tracker.
