Maine Veteran’s Home- Bangor Receives National Quality Award

The Maine Health Care Association wishes to congratulate all the staff of the Maine Veterans Home- Bangor on receiving the AHCA/NCAL's Gold Excellence in Quality Award. This milestone toward performance excellence takes years of hard work and perseverance to become one of the very best long term care centers in the nation. On October 12 at the AHCA/NCAL Convention in front of an audience of providers from all across the country, Maine Veteran's Home staff were recognized for their incredible work. They were one of two homes that were honored with this impressive award this year.
At the Gold Award level, applicants must show superior performance in areas of the criteria including leadership, strategic planning, and customer and staff satisfaction. By completing the Gold level criteria, organizations take their quality journey to a higher level through the valuable feedback received in the application process and thereby reaching organizational goals. Applicants are required to receive the Bronze – Commitment to Quality and Silver – Achievement in Quality Awards before applying at the Gold level.
