130th Legislature Kicked off on January 5th, 2022

On Wednesday, the second session of the 130^th Legislature kicked off. Both the House of Representatives and the Senate met in person Wednesday, but leaders plan to have committee meet remotely at least through the end of January. There are over 350 bills to be considered by law makers with a projected budget surplus of $822 million.
 
There are approximately 350 bills that were either carried over from last year or approved for emergency consideration by legislative council. Public hearings are already being scheduled for various legislative committees.
 
The short session has a statutory adjournment date of April 20^th.
