Public health emergency extended 90 more days

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Wednesday that it is renewing the federal public health emergency related to COVID-19 effective Saturday, April 16, 2022. This is the ninth time the PHE has been extended since it began on January 31, 2020. Renewals last 90 days, therefore this extension will last until mid-July. As previously reported by MHCA and AHCA, some regulatory and financial waivers and policies will stay in place, while others will sunset during this extension. We continue to report on these as appropriate.
