Waivers: What is and is not in effect

Certain 1135 waivers have or are about to expire at the beginning of June 2022. MHCA has created a helpful list of the 1135 waivers that were enacted during the public health emergency (PHE) with relevant expirations. In addition, for any home that would like to request an additional waiver CMS has established an electronic process for requests which can be sought by visiting CMS Quality Support Services. 

Of Note: The 3-day hospital stay waiver IS STILL IN EFFECT and does not have an identified expiration at this time.

MHCA encourages members to closely review the approaching waiver end dates to ensure compliance.
