Maine Nurse to be Recognized at AHCA/NCAL National Convention in October

The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) announced the recipients for the 2022 AHCA/NCAL Awards program yesterday. Doreen Locke, RN, DON, Odd Fellows' and Rebekahs' Home of Maine located in Auburn, ME will be recognized as the NCAL Assisted Living Nurse of the Year.

This award recognizes a licensed practical or registered assisted living nurse who demonstrates outstanding compassion, supervisory success, innovation, achievement, and capabilities in their provision of high-quality person-centered care in a service-oriented culture in an assisted living community.

Each year, AHCA/NCAL recognizes the men and women who generously care for individuals in long term and post-acute care centers, as well as those who represent the best of the assisted living sector. These honorees demonstrate selflessness and compassion while striving to enhance the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities in their communities.

“Working in long term care is a calling and takes special, dedicated people like this year's amazing award recipients,” said AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson. “We are privileged to recognize all of these individuals who consider it their life's work to serve their residents who rely on this care.”

Ms. Locke will be honored at the 73rd AHCA/NCAL Convention to be held on October 9-12, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. Please join us in congratulating Doreen!
