“We are thrilled to share that ‘Cultivating Kindness' is the theme for next year's National Skilled Nursing Care Week,” said AHCA President and CEO Mark Parkinson. “Every day in nursing centers there are acts of kindness that go above and beyond the call of duty. The theme we have chosen captures these acts of kindness that can be transformative for staff and the residents they care for. Kindness is contagious so let's continue cultivating and spreading it to improve lives.”
“Essity Health and Medical is honored to be the official sponsor of National Skilled Nursing Care Week again in 2023,” said Michael Feenan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Next year's theme will shine a light on the kindness that helps to make a difference in the lives of the individuals who work and live in skilled nursing centers. We are elated to be a part of this special week.”
Established by AHCA in 1967, NSNCW starts each year on Mother's Day and will be held May 14-20, 2023. “Cultivating Kindness” encourages skilled nursing care centers around the country to host a variety of events that recognize the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer in nursing centers while adhering to infection control requirements and precautions in place for COVID-19.
The “Cultivating Kindness” logo is available for download to skilled nursing care centers and members of the public on the NSNCW website. In February, AHCA will issue a planning guide and products centered on ways to celebrate. Participants are asked to share their acts of kindness throughout the year leading up to NSNCW on social media with the hashtag #NSNCW.
