Governor Mills Releases Final Budget

On Wednesday, Governor Mills released her final budget. This last supplemental budget focuses a lot on ensuring financial relief for Mainers. Some of the highlights include:
- Supporting Maine Schools, Teachers and Students
Includes increasing minimum teacher pay; improving bus safety for students
- Advancing Economic Innovation
Investments in emerging areas including artificial intelligent, robotics, health care delivery
- Supporting the Health and Welfare of Maine People
Supporting the needs of Maine's vulnerable, including shelters, prescription drug costs, food and health benefits
- Strengthening Public Safety
Implementing the voter approved red flag laws and public defense
- Helping Maine Veterans
Through the provision of funds to Maine's Veterans' Homes
- Addressing Energy Costs and Grid Reliability
Strengthening the grid resilience grant program to support affordability of energy costs.
