Excellence in LTC Awards Program 2019
This year, MHCA is pleased to announce it is partnering with the Maine Long Term Care Ombudsman Program to present the 2019 Excellence in Long Term Care Awards. Instead of having two separate awards programs with the same goal, we've combined efforts to recognize long term care employees across the continuum, including those working in home health care, assisted living and nursing facilities. Due to a lack of interest, we will no longer present awards for innovative programming, but we will honor our national Quality Award recipients at the MHCA Fall Conference.
The Excellence in Long Term Care Award recognizes employees statewide who have consistently exemplified a commendable level of caregiving, dedication, and professionalism in caring for their residents/consumers. The Award honors caregivers who make a significant positive difference in the lives of residents/consumers. Because there are many team members who contribute to quality of care and life, we present caregiving awards across all disciplines as follows:
Nursing/direct caregiver, such as a Nurse, CNA, PSS, CRMA, HHA, or other direct caregiver
all other disciplines, like social work, dietary, activities, etc. from any other department
Administrators/supervisors may nominate a staff member of their choice. Facilities may submit one nomination in each category for a total of two nominations per facility. All nominees must be employed by their organization/facility for at least one year.
An independent panel of judges selects the winners who are recognized during a special event each Fall. Details for this year's event are coming soon!
MHCA will present awards to member providers that are making significant strides towards achieving and maintaining quality through specific quality improvement processes at the Fall Conference.
